How do my members find a Healthy Discounts dentist?

There are more than 1,100 Healthy Discounts dentists at more than 400 locations around the UK. Not all dentists at a dental practice may have signed up for the arrangement, so please ask members to confirm this before they visit. What are Healthy Discounts?

Healthy Discounts are part of a dental plan that can be offered to your employees. Dental plan members can save 20 percent on all dental treatment costs at a Healthy Discounts dentist, which means a saving of 20 percent less than on the dentist`s published private fees.

What is a Healthy Discounts dentist?

A number of dentists across the UK have signed up to a discount agreement with our dental partner’s network. These Healthy Discounts dentists have agreed to provide Cigna members with a 20 percent discount off their published private fees for all treatments. This means your employees can enjoy a 20 percent saving on treatments covered by their Cigna dental plan.

Can my employees save on treatments not covered by their Cigna dental plan?

Yes, they can save on other treatments, such as teeth whitening and implants.

Who can get Healthy Discounts?

All Cigna dental plan members, including family members covered by a Cigna dental plan, can enjoy Healthy Discounts.

Can members get 20 percent off NHS treatment?

No, the savings only apply to fees for private dental treatment.

When members visit a Healthy Discounts dentist, what happens?

Members will pay 20 percent less for all treatments at a Healthy Discounts dentist. If they are having treatment that’s covered by their Cigna dental plan, members can claim as they normally would. Employees can also have treatment that's not covered by their Cigna dental plan and enjoy the 20 savings. They need to pay the treatment costs to the dentist themselves. They can’t make a claim to Cigna for this treatment.

Do members need to take anything with them when they visit a Healthy Discounts dentist?

Members must take their Cigna dental plan membership card or their ‘How to use a Healthy Discounts dentist’ leaflet with them. These were sent to them with their welcome letter.

Does the discount affect members’ plan limits?

The Healthy Discounts feature does not affect their plan limits. Their claim for covered treatments will be subject to the reimbursement limits and annual maximum benefits detailed in the List of Benefits.

Do members have to use a Healthy Discounts dentist?

No. They have complete flexibility. If their dentist is not a Healthy Discounts dentist, they can continue to visit them. The choice is theirs.
