Phil Austin
Managing Director, Cigna UK HealthCare Benefits
Phil Austin is Managing Director, Cigna UK HealthCare Benefits. In this role he has responsibility for driving profitable growth of Cigna’s UK domestic healthcare business through direct channels and intermediaries.
With more than 20 years of experience in general management, global sales, marketing and product strategy, Phil leads his management team in developing and implementing leading medical, dental and health and well-being solutions to meet and exceed the needs of UK employers and their employees.
Phil joined Cigna in 2002 as Partnership Director for the UK HealthCare Benefits business. Since then, he has held a number of international roles within the company. He also held several leadership positions; including Health, Life & Accident (HL&A) Europe Sales & Marketing Director and Interim CEO for HL&A Europe. He also worked at Chartis as Vice President of the European Group Accident and Health (A&H) business for Chartis.
Most recently, Phil spearheaded the growth of Cigna’s Global Individual Private Medical Insurance (IPMI) business which provides solutions for high net worth and globally mobile individuals in more than 150 countries.
Based in Cigna’s UK headquarters in Greenock, Phil is happiest spending time at home in Winchester with his wife and four young children. Phil is a keen rugby enthusiast and avid golfer.
