If you’ve been referred for diagnostics or treatment then call us for authorisation. Always check your cover for specialist, surgeon and anaesthetist fees before starting treatment. Fees for each procedure (including inpatient aftercare) are covered to the maximum level in the Cigna Fee Schedule which is subject to change from time to time and can be viewed at www.cigna.co.uk.

Alternatively, our navigated referrals service offers to help you to find a consultant, close to home or work as suits, and guarantees consultant and anaesthetist fees will be covered in full for eligible treatment. We’ll transfer you to be booked in by the hospital directly.

In all cases, our nurses can help you understand the treatment you’ve been referred for and the options you have – they will act as your advocate in your health journey. 

In some cases the best setting for your treatment might be the NHS.  However, even if you are not claiming on your plan, our Nurses will:

And, if staying as an NHS inpatient, you may be able to claim for NHS cash benefit.

Remember, your GP can refer you for many diagnostic tests, sometimes removing the need for you to take the time out of your busy life to see a consultant.  A full list of diagnostics your GP can refer you for can be found here.
